@EliminateIgnorance your such a fucking loser Firstly no one wins in a war the people who started it stay alive while hundreds of young men and woman die, secondly your stupid sarcastic comment will not change a fact, if i say the south didn't lose the civil war because they won more overall victories doesn't change the fact that the federal government rule america not individual states now show the underdog respect for kicking your ass five ways to friday.

@EliminateIgnorance So what, in WWII the Russians lost 6 to 4 times more men and civilians than the Germans and they still won. The fact of the matter is whose flag is flowing over Saigon??? OH excuse me Ho Chi Mihn city.Get real they won and we lost and before us the French and before the French the Japanese, the Chinese and the Mongols. Vietnamese people were fending off foreign invaders for over 1000 years, its the same with Afghanistan. Big powers just don't learn. Foreign wars are bad

I wonder, if this film were to be re-made, shot for shot, today, would rendering the aerial shots using CG cost more than filming the live action? Assuming, of course, the same level of detail.

The Vietnam conflict like every other stage-managed war has been from time memorable been instigated and controlled by the u.s. armament industry, which eventually unfortunately for the american hard pressed tax payer costs them billions.

I'm so glad I'm not a commercial airline pilot... I'd probably get fired after the first rough weather landing. " Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking... We're experiencing rough weather conditions so expect a bumpy landing. DA DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAA DA DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA "

I remember the first time I watched this movie, completely stoned. As the helicopters were approaching I was so taken in by the drama & powerful music that all I could think was KILL THEM!!!!!
